Toonies for Tulips

Dear Hawthorne Parents and Guardians;

Hawthorne Village is raising money for the Highway of Heroes. This charity is planting 117,000 trees along the 401 in remembrance of all the soldiers that have been killed in the last 150 years. Our school is very fortunate to be involved in this program and we have been given 150 beautiful tulip bulbs to plant. The planting has already been done by our students in the Me to We club and now the work begins! We need to raise $1500 to help support the Highway of Heroes' initiative. We are asking our Hawthorne community to bring in TOONIES for TULIPS. If each student at Hawthorne brings in a TOONIE, we will meet our goal of $1500.

Thanks to our Hawthorne families for all your continued support! We are all looking forward to the red and white tulips that will bloom next year in the spring to help celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, and to view the trees that we will see along the Highway of Heroes.

TOONIES for TULIPS will run November 15-November 30.

Thank you for your support.
